Bob was born March 6, 1949 at Le Mars, IA, the son of Arnold & Kathryn (Kilker) Fiedler.  He grew up in Oyens and Remsen, where he spent a lot of time helping on the farm. Out of his love for this country, he joined the Navy in 1968, where he spent two years on the USS Ajax in Japan, Philippines and Vietnam. To this day, he proudly flies and displays the American flag.

On September 6, 1971 Bob married the love of his life, Karen Schiltz. They made their home in Remsen and were blessed with four amazing children, Chad (Stephannie) Fiedler of Underwood, IA; Jodi (Brent) Weiler of Sioux Falls, SD; Josh (Sara) Fiedler of Sioux Falls, SD and Nicole (Ryan) Galles of Clive, IA.

He was blessed with eight wonderful grandkids, Dallas, Shea and Sophia Fiedler, Alyssa (Jake) Vaughan, Jasmine Weiler, Ellerie, Hensley and Brexley Galles and one great grandson, Thomas Vaughan.

Bob enjoyed every day of his 10 ½ year retirement after working as a dedicated employee for 41 years at the same company. He really enjoyed spending time with family, smoking meat and perfecting his Ol’ Fid’s Seasoning. He had a heart of gold and was always helping and giving to others. He was passionate about donating to children’s cancer research.

Bob is also survived by his siblings, Father Loyd Fiedler, LaVonne (Jim) Galles, Leon (Janet) Fiedler, Mary (Pat) Loutsch, Rose Ann Fiedler, Karen (Craig) Bartolozzi, Kay (Henry) Campbell and Marlene Gallardo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronnie Fiedler, niece Stacie Fiedler, and nephews Cory Campbell and Brian Gallardo. In laws, Richard and June Schiltz, brothers-in-law Eugene and Gary (Griz) Schiltz and son-in-law Brent Weiler.
